Gypsies and Debutantes

Today I will write about Gypsies and Debutantes. They sell one of a kind bags, made by artisans in Central and South America using the recycled blouses of indigenous women. This bags are delicate and extremely beautiful. I had no idea they existed until one day they liked one of my pics. So when I explored their pictures, I fell in love with those gorgeous handbags. They are lovely and amazing. This bags have inconsistencies and imperfections in their fabric. I love them for that. Since I am inconsistent, impredictible and have imperfections, this bags are for me. ////////////// Hoy les comentaré sobre unas carteras hechas a mano (artesanales) que son hermosas. Están elaboradas por personas de América Central y América del Sur. Eso me fascinó. Somos caribeños y latinoamericanos también por nuestra historia. Para confeccionarlas, se utilizan los materiales de camisas recicladas. Es por esto que al verlas, se pueden notar imperfecciones e inconsistencias en ellas. A mi me encantó cuando la ví. Y esta que compré es una pequeña pero hermosa. Me encantan los diseños y colores. Tienen de diferentes tamaños y estilos. Eso sí, sólo existe una. No se producen más de un mismo patrón. Pedí una para ver cómo estaba hecha (el material) y si valía la pena pedir otras más elaboradas. Mire, no me equivoqué.

And this is my new and colorful wristlet. I love all the bright colors. They are extremely intense and since I am like that, I really love it. This is my style. And you can use it with different types of clothing and colors. It is just perfect, simple, elegant and chic. All at the same time in a wristlet its just amazing and gorgeous. //// Y esta es mi nueva cartera. Amo los colores brillantes. Son colores extremadamente intensos y como soy así, pues la amo con pasión. Esta cartera refleja perfectamente mi estilo. Lo que me fascina, me mata y me encanta es que la puedo utilizar y combinar con diferentes tipos de ropa y colores. Simplemente mi nueva adquisición es perfecta, simple, elegante y chic. Todas estas características reunidas en una misma cartera son maravillosas.

 

 

I love the fact that it is handmade and crafted. The sewing thread and sewing seem very resistible. I also love that the handle of the wristlet is made out of leather. Each piece is unique. I love that in an outfit or piece of clothing. I don't think it is waterproof and I'm not even going to try finding it out. I also love the small detail thread balls in green and pink because they look extremely  cute. They are simply adorable. /////// Me encanta que esté hecha a mano. El hilo y costura se ven resistentes y el agarre está hecho en cuero. Cada pieza es única y eso es un súper "up" y mega "plus" para mí. Eso sí, me da la impresión de que no es impermeable. No quiero ni haré prueba alguna porque sé que se mojará.  Adicional a todo lo mencionado, me encantan las bolitas de hilo en color verde y rosita porque es que se ven extremadamente hermosas. Se ven mega adorables.

Here is the space of my wristlet. It is perfect for my cellphone, keys, makeup and money. I'm a very simple kind of girl. I would use this bag for a stroll on a perfect sunny day or at night for a sort of bohemian type of party. //// Aquí te enseño el espacio de mi cartera. El mismo es perfecto para llevar las llaves, celular, maquillaje y dinero. Me encanta y la encuentro perfecta porque soy una chica bien sencilla y no me gusta andar con tantas cosas a la hora de salir. La usaré definitivamente en un día soleado para caminar por ahí o una actividad de noche que sea bohemia.

  

 

The price of the handbags vary. They depend on the size you choose. I paid for this one $48.00 dollars plus shipping and handling which was $6.00 dollars. The final price was $54.00 dollars. It may seem to you a little expensive but I prefer buying one from them and helping communities rather than paying big companies for an item poorly made. These handbags are made from the heart with lots of love and meaning. For the reasons above I support and recommend Gypsies and Debutants and will definitely buy from them again. They are very responsible and kind people. The wristlet came from 5 to 10 days just like they said it would be arriving in my mail.  //////  El precio de las carteras varía según su tamaño y estilo. Esta me costó $48.00 dólares más los impuestos de envío y manejo $6.00 dólares. Terminé pagando $54.00 dólares. Sé que el precio de estas carteras tal vez es un poco caro para tu bolsillo pero prefiero comprarles y ayudar a estas comunidades, que elaboran sus productos de corazón, con mucha ilusión y buena intención, a comprarle a compañías que se benefician de sus empleados pagándoles poco y por un trabajo mal hecho bajo condiciones deplorables e inhumanas. Por las razones anteriores les recomiendo a Gypsies and Debutants. Les volveré a comprar. Son personas súper responsables y amables. Mi cartera llegó dentro del término de 5 a 10 días como ellos dijeron que sería y estaría en mi correo.

Necromancy Cosmetica (English / Español)

One day I was talking with a pretty cute bartender and he mentioned that here in Puerto Rico was this company named Necromancy Cosmetica and that they made matte lipsticks. Later on, I created an account on Instagram but forgot their name. So, one day I was looking at some pics and saw this gorgeous lipstick that appeared to be matte. I checked the pic out and saw Necromancy Cosmetica.

 

To make sure they were from Puerto Rico, I wrote them by inbox.

 

They confirmed my inquiry.

 

I was very happy to read that and asked them how could I get in touch with them.

 

They replied quickly but something came up the next day and I couldn't meet them at the MAC (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo).

 

I've never ever bought something through the Internet. But I decided to do so.

 

It was the best choice I have ever made in my entire existance. Their makeup is handcrafted, cruelty free, and a 100% vegan.

They include a small coffin shaped mirror and a sticker. It is kind of creepy in a way but cool.

 

I LOVE goths. It was a dark era. At the university I made a lot of goth Friends and they are funny, amazing and brilliant people. I love Edgar Allan Poe. Love the era and black. 

 

But, returning to Necromancy Cosmetica crew and experience, they are absolutely humble, marvelous and very responsible people. Super sweet and mega nice!!!!! They contacted me and showed me my package. It was first class shipping and they monitored (tracked) my package even after it arrived to let me know it was on my mailbox.

 

 I bought 6 lipsticks and they are awesome.

Un día, conversando con un bartender muy guapo y reconocido, me comentó que aquí en Puerto Rico existe una línea de cosméticos matte que son completamente naturales. No experimentan con animales ni son caros tampoco. Obviamente me dijo el nombre pero yo, pues, no lo recordaba muy bien que digamos.

 

Cuando creo mi cuenta en Instagram para la página, inmediatamente vi una foto con un labial hermoso y radical. Como me gustan. Cuando le dí el famoso "me gusta" veo que dice Necromancy Cosmetica. Ahí se me prendió la bombilla. Me dí cuenta que esos eran los labiales que me había mencionado ese chico tan apuesto aquella noche. 

 

Ellos son personas góticas o que les gusta vestir de negro. En la universidad me vestía de negro, no así pero siempre me pasaba con mi grupito de literatura comparada o "English lit". A todos nos gustaba esa bendita época oscura. Siempre hablábamos sobre Edgar Allan Poe y su corazón delator. O el bendito pájaro negro, que es un cuervo, pero relajábamos en los días lluviosos diciendo que era un chango. Jajajajajaja. La gente gótica es la mejor ever. A mí me encantan porque tengo varias amistades así y son las más cool y humildes en todo el mundo. Casi todos tiene 20 mil tatuajes, plugs, barba, son los más rebeldes y tal vez darán miedo pero al menos conmigo son las personas más amables, humildes, hermosas y chulitas que he conocido en la vida. Los admiro a todos. Son brillantes, tienen mucho carácter, fuerza de voluntad y una energía bien linda.

 

Creo que por esa razón, cuando los ví, les tomé mucho cariño. De por sí, soy todo amor pero  les tomé un mayor y especial cariño. Los contacté y ellos me contestaron inmediatamente y confirmaron que son de aquí como el coquí. Entonces me propuse encontrarme con ellos pero ese día que acordamos en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo no pude asistir.

 

Yo estaba determinada a comprar los labiales.

 

Asi es que visité la página cibernética de ellos:

Y realicé mis compras tranquila y en la comodidad de mi hogar. Cada uno costó $16.00 dólares.

 

Compré 6:

Lo mejor es que:

 

1- Me avisaron cuando los enviaron,

2- llegaron en menos de 72 horas y

3- me informaron cuando exactamente el cartero dejó el paquete en mi correo.

 

Les digo que son gente súper responsable. NUNCA, NUNCA me habían tratado así. ENAMORADA QUEDÉ.

 

No sólo llegaron los labiales, sino que me incluyeron un espejito bien "bello y gótico" en forma de ataúd y un adhesivo bien chulo.

 

Definitivamente los volveré a comprar.

 

* Razones:

 

1- Prefiero apoyar la economía local a apoyar las mega tiendas.

2- Las empresas no hacen las cosas con amor. Son las pequeñas empresas locales las que te tratan con mucho cariño, y entusiasmo. Apoyen el comercio local.

3- Los labiales me encantaron.

4- Al ponérmelos en los labios se siente súper suave y

5- los colores a pesar de ser oscuros, tienen brillito. ¡¡¡¡¡¡AMO EL BRILLITO!!!!!!

6- Son cosméticos matte.

7- 100% vegano. Completamente naturales.

8- No experimentan con animales. (cruelty free)

9- Son accesibles  y económicos.

10- Hechos a mano.
